ANTIOCH, Turkey — The Hatay Academic Symphony Orchestra will soon
perform a series of concerts in several European countries, showcasing the rich
and unifying cultural heritage inspired by the unique musical traditions of
Antioch (Antakya) in southern Turkey.
The concerts aim to serve as a meaningful bridge to Western
audiences, creating space to share a diverse tapestry of musical emotion and
creativity.
Beyond presenting music, the project carries messages of resilience and
unity among global communities. It also seeks to share an atmosphere of
collective warmth and melodies of hope, fostering connection through the power
of universal song.
Each musical work in the program is said to tell a story drawn from a
distinct place, bringing together the emotions and hearts of all who hear it.
On 24 January 2026, at 7:00 PM, the Orchestra will perform one of its
featured pieces in Ahlen, Germany.
The Hatay Academic Symphony Orchestra was founded in 2019 by local music
teachers, graduates of advanced music institutes, and students. With support
from the Kahramanmaraş Earthquake Emergency Recovery Fund, the Orchestra has
been able to expand its roster of musicians.
