Father Kamal Warda Bidawid met with
the members of the Chaldean Syriac Assyrian Popular Council Office, in the
presence of MP Amir Goga, Member of Parliament of the Kurdistan Region,
representative of the PC list and Director of the Hazel Cultural Center. During the meeting, Father Kamal emphasized on
the unity of Christian people, and that he supports any action that aims to present
services and build cooperation, away from all labels; explaining that the
Christians abroad do not have sufficient visibility to what is happening inside
the country, because they do not live that situation; he also said that he was surprised,
when he came to Melbourne and received the position of the pastor of Church of
the Virgin Mary ((Crops Preserver)) to see there the enormous number of
associations and organizations, and under different labels, and he said that it
is hard to address one in particular, especially that the role of the church is
educational and religious rather than political. Then he wished all the success
for the Council members in their work, and set the cooperation with everyone
and the sincere work to be as their first goal.
Mr. Amir Goga thanked Father Kamal for
his words, and said that he with his brothers in the Parliament, are working to
serve our people in our homeland, so as to provide services and security for
them, and to fulfill their rights, especially after the recent events of Zakho.
At the end of the meeting, Deacon Samir Nissan Bureau Official, thanked Father
Kamal for this meeting, and stressed on the spirit of cooperation between all
the unions, in order to come out with a clear vision of what is in the service
of our Christian community in Melbourne.
