Media Committee
The
Assembly of the Chaldean Syriac Assyrian Political Parties (ACSAPP) heldon
Monday 16, 2011 a special meeting at the presidential and leadership
levels. The meeting was held in the Chaldean Culture Society in
Ankawa/ Erbil .
The
meeting was held to singe the political program and by-law of the assembly.
A
final survey of the program and by-law, ratified during yet an earlier meeting
following thorough discussion, was carried out.
This
was followed by a signing ceremony whereby the two documents were
singed by the presidents and secretary generals of the (ACSAPP). Following

The
Assembly’s By-law includes information about the assembly, membership
regulations and organization chart that includes bodies, offices, committees,
committee mechanisms and their tasks.
The
political program of the assembly, on the other hand, contains general
principles governing the political attitudes of the assembly in its objectives
through:
reactivation
the in-unison political attitude and common group work with an aim to realize
our legitimate national and ethnic rights;
work to secure
the political, administrative, cultural and educational rights of our people;
safeguarding
the constituents of our peoples nationalist identity;
loyalty to the
nationalist unity of our Chaldean Syriac Assyrian people and work to
deepen it and raise up the awareness of our people on the issue;
coordination
of work between home and the exile in a manner that would serve the existence
of our people on their ancestral land and the promotion of their cause;
safeguarding
the ethnic and religious identity and character of our people and boosting our
peoples ties to homeland through finding ways of putting an end to the
inexorable immigration, normalization of the conditions of our displaced people
and compensation for the suffering they have been caused.
On
the national level, the program contains information on work for:
the
establishment of a governorate in the Plain of Nineveh (PN) for our
CSAP in communion with other religious and ethnic components of the Iraqi
people who coexist in the area;
reactivation
of Article (35) of the draft constitution of the Iraqi Kurdistan
Region (KR) which provides for granting an autonomous region for our
people in the region following a referendum on the constitution;
reactivation
of the constitutional articles that guarantee the religious and ethnic
character of the ethnic communities in Iraq and supporting the
principle of national partnership;
securing a
just representation of our people in all the powers in the country;
making efforts
to support the democratic system in the country in collaboration with the other
democratic and national powers ;
work to
implement the articles of the constitution of Iraq depending on the
democratic values and practices, smooth handover of power, respect
for human rights and the acknowledgment of ethnic and religious multiplicity of
the Iraqi people;
removal of
transgression and restoration of all misappropriated lands and properties;
abolition of
all laws that caused and are still causing demographic change and making just
and remunerative compensation for the damage caused to owners;
abolition of
all laws that discriminate between the religious and ethnic components of the
Iraqi people;
step up
efforts to pass laws that secure the rights of the religious and ethnic components
of new Iraq .
It
also contains details of these objectives and mechanism to implement them on
the ethnic and national levels.
Following
the signing ceremony, various other issues on the meeting agenda were discussed
regarding the mechanism of the assembly work and the duties of the committees
set up by the assembly as well as some recent developments for which a number
of suitable recommendations and decision were taken.
