On Sunday, April 27, 2025, His Holiness Mar Gewargis III Younan, Catholicos-Patriarch of the Ancient Church of the East in Iraq and worldwide, met with His Excellency Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakim, Head of the Iraqi National Wisdom Movement (Tayar Al-Hikma Al-Watani).

Together they discussed the the current status of Iraq, and the importance of communication between the different religions and ethnicities - to ensure continued peace and prosperity for all.

His Holiness was accompanied by Father Shimon Aslan, Patriarchal Secretary and Parish Priest for the Patriarchal Cathedral of Saint Mary, the Blessed Virgin in Baghdad.
