the Chaldean Syriac Assyrian Popular
Council in Germany participates in the work of the Eighth Forum for Minorities,
organized by the Human Rights Commission of the United Nations on 24th and 25th of November at Palace des Nations in Geneva.
The Forum will be headed by the expert in minorities’ rights Joshua Castelino in
addition to Ms. Rita Isaac scheduler of the United Nations’ Human Rights
Committee; the Forum will discuss major issues of global concern, particularly
the treatment of minorities in the criminal justice systems, and the
recommendations of the Forum will be raised to the Human Rights Council of the UN
in its session that will be held in March 2016.
It is worth mentioning that the PC
will address the Forum with a word on the suffering of minorities in general
and the situation of the CSA people in Iraq in particular. It is noteworthy
that among the participants in the forum are the Bartalla Friends Organization that
works against the demographic change of Christians’ areas in Iraq, the Yezidi Foundation
in Netherlands and the Shabak Democratic Assembly in Germany, and we will bring
you the details later.
