Mr. Louay Mikhail the Foreign Relations Committee official in the Chaldean Syriac Assyrian Popular Council met in the US capital Washington with Ms. Anna Esho member of the US Congress to discuss the economic and the political situation of our Chaldean Syriac Assyrian people and their future prospects. During this meeting Mr. Mikhail put forward the safe zone issue, the liberalization of the Nineveh Plain and enabling the Free Nineveh Plain Forces to carry out its tasks after the liberation, also he urged the Congress and the US administration to issue a decision for the international protection of our people and other the minorities in Iraq in order to live in dignity. In a relevant context Mr. Mikhail asked for more humanitarian aid including food and medicine, and the provision of the appropriate climates for education, stressing that the suffering of the Christians at the hands of the terrorist organization Daesh rise to the level of genocide.
Mrs. Esho expressed her sorrow for what happened to the Christians of Iraq and Syria and considering what happened crimes against humanity and she said that the United States and the international community should not keep silent about what happened to the Christians of the Middle East because we are facing a common enemy that we should deter together, expressing at the same time her concern about the tragic situation which the Christians are living in the region, also she wished that the Christians of Iraq will unite and will agree on one unified political discourse to be able to deliver their voice to all the political powers and the decision-makers, which will serve their cause eventually.
