Mr. Curt Olaf Koze strategy, foreign relations,
defense programs, development and human rights’ Officer in the ruling Christian
Democratic Union in the Federal Republic of Germany received Kamel Zumaia Zuzu,
the Chaldean Syriac Assyrian Popular Council’s official in Germany on Friday 07
/ November 2014.
At the beginning of the meeting, Zuzu thanked
Chancellor Angela Merkel head of the Christian Democratic Union, for her great
attention to the suffering of the Iraqi components, especially our Chaldean Syriac
Assyrians Christian, Yazidis and Shabak in the Nineveh Plain and the humanitarian
support and outright position in protecting our people, who were exposed to the
terrorist organization of Daesh, but in another aspect Zumaia stressed that the
humanitarian aid provided by the international community, including the Federal
Republic of Germany does not live up to the needs of the displaced, including clothing, food, medicines and what they
get of medical treatment, in addition to that, the tents they are living in cannot
protect them from the cold weather and rains, the PC official also presented a file
of the displaced needs in addition to images documenting the deplorable conditions
experienced by them for more than three months now while living in the open. Zuzu
appealed to Chancellor Merkel and the German government for more support for the
humanitarian needs by building private caravans for the displaced instead of the
desolated tents. For his part, Mr. Koze expressed his pain and extreme sadness for
what is happening to the displaced, confirming that Chancellor Merkel and the
leadership of the Christian Democratic Union in Germany renew their support and
protection to all Iraqi factions, especially for the displaced of the Nineveh
Plain, and he promised to follow up on the humanitarian support with the
officials of support, humanitarian needs and human rights’ committees in the
German parliament for more aid, so as to reduce the suffering of the displaced and
return them to their home areas as soon as after defeating the terrorists.
At the end of the meeting, Zuzu thanked
Mr. Koze for the warm reception and agreed to continue contacts so as to keep him
updated on the conditions of the displaced, especially our Christian people in Iraq.
