A delegation from the US Embassy
in Iraq Headed by Ambassador Dr. James Knight assistant Chief of mission in
Iraq visited yesterday Thursday 14/8/2012 Mr. Sakis Aghajan in his residential
place in Ankawa.
He was accompanied by Paul
Stuphin the US Consul General in Erbil and Stephen Gee the political /Economic
Section Chief at the US Consulate in Erbil.
The two sides discussed during
the meeting the recent political developments in
Iraq, Kurdistan Region, and the region in general.
Other numerous issues related to
our Chaldean Syriac Assyrian (CSA) people in Iraq were discussed including the
nationalist demands of our people for an autonomous region in the areas where
they live now in Kurdistan Region and the establishment of a governorate in the
Plain of Nineveh as well as the demographic change taking place in the
Christian areas. Ways of halting those demographic changes at present were also
discussed in addition to means of putting an end to them in future.
The visiting delegation was then
seen off by Mr. Sarkis Aghajan with the same courtesy and
hospitality with which it was received.
