Södertälje - Another bad performance by Assyriska against Atvidabergs led to the team drop yet another three points. The team was pushed back for the most of the game, but cut the lead to 1 - 2 in the 90th minute with a goal by Ishak. The team is set to play against Jonkopings on Sunday.
Syrianska was coming off a 1-0 victory, however their magic didn't continue when they faced Halmstad on June 11. Sharbel Touma had many opportunities to get the team the three much needed points, but the game ended in a scoreless draw. Syrianska's best chance came moments after the start of the second half when Abgar Barsom combined with a teammate to get in on goal, and despite finding himself one-on-one with Halmstads goalkeeper Karl-Johan Johnsson, the Swedish midfielder managed to fire a shot over the crossbar from eight yards out.
Syrianska won the possession battle but both teams were aggressive offensively throughout the match however neither managed to capitalize on one of many scoring opportunities.
Barsom and Ivan Ristic received yellow cards for Syrianska while Halmstads saw Mikkael Rosén and Raul Ruiz cautioned.
On the topic of underperforming and bad games, Syrianska and Halmstad battled it out and then shared one point each in another 0-0 draw. A yawn sums up that game pretty good. Halmstad are awful this year and there seems to be no relief in sight!
Syrianska's next game will be on the June 20th as they will go up against the 15th placed Djurgårdens IF, where a victory is expected by the team.
